HOME!

It is good to be home. Things are just a little busy around here now. Allen had to go back to work on Friday! Just not enough of Mommy to go around! We can do it cause things are just more comfortable in your own environment! The nursing agency called on Friday and we may be getting some part time help. That would be great but I am sure it will be hard to adjust to someone else taking care of Reagan . Especially if I am home, but I know that Brennen needs me too! She is doing well! She is eating better and smiling a whole lot! She is sleeping well for the most part and so far, praise God, no trach emergencies! She is a little bit mixed up on her days and nights! Maybe she will get back on schedule soon Please pray that her bones are fusing and that her neck will be strong so her halo can come off in October. We are praying that she can be weaned off of the vent some too! Thank you everyone for your prayers and all the support. We love you and the homecoming was wonderful.

Reagan is one of the Easter Seals walk-a-thon ambassadors. Her picture is too cute. Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend the walk-a-thon since we are homebound until October, but anyone that would like to participate or donate I am sure they would greatly appreciate it. Reagan gets her physical therapy from Easter Seals and they are just wonderful. We hope to start back once she gets out of her halo! I have got some really cute pictures that I hope I can download soon.

Back to Monday Again!!!!

Well, it is looking like we are going home Monday! Hallelujah and praise God! Answered prayer. We are so excited. Reagan is off of her IV antibotics and will be going home on oral antibotics for several more days. We are praying that she stays healthy and will not have to come back to Birmingham until October! Then prayfully she will get her princess halo off! That will make things a whole lot easier! We are praying that soon after that she will continue to get stronger and ween of her ventilator.
We have made some friends here. Gracie Poole is one of them. Her website is www.caringbridge.org/visit/gracieannpoole.org. Her family is so precious! She has four brothers and sisters that are so sweet. Please pray for Gracie!
Reagan's nurses and RT's are so awesome. They had Reagan a surprise going home party tonight complete with pink and purple ballons! We thought it was so sweet because they had everything Reagan enjoys. They gave her tons of playdough, braclets, fingernail polish, princess tiera, dora towel set, and a dora toy holder! They had her a beautiful cake and m-n-0 cookies! Have they gotten to know Reagan or what! We are overwelmed at the thoughtfullness! Reagan didn't say much during her party, but afterwards she was telling us all about it. Reagan makes friends everywhere she goes!
The ambulance should be here at noon on Monday to carry us home! I will try to update if anything changes. Thanks for the continued prayers and please continue to remember us when we get home. I know it is going to be a new challange. I may not have as much time to update when we get home. We were going to have 24 hour nursing but the nursing company is not staffed so we will be going home with no help! I can't believe there is such a shortage in nursing. We may get some help later but no guarantees! Oh well, everything will work out alright. Who needs sleep, right?

Delay!

We may not get to come home on Monday! Reagan has a UTI. They are starting antibiotics tonight and will see how she responds! I am discouraged! I was looking forward to the 14th. I know Reagan is ready to go home. Oh, well!! I will update in a few days and let everyone know when we will get to come home.

Discharge Date!!!!

Hello! Things here are going good! Other than not wanting to eat, Reagan is doing great! She just doesn't have an appetite. We are not sure where she gets that. Allen and I are just eating double for her!! Ha! It could be a neurological thing but maybe not. I am hoping she will start eating again when we get home. Speaking of home, we are coming home on the 14th!! Two weeks from yesterday! Anyone who wants to be at the house to welcome Reagan home is invited. Not exactly sure what time we will be arriving via ambulance but will update everyone as soon as we have a discharge time. I am hoping to be leaving the hospital no later than noon. We will just have to see how anxious they are for us to leave that day! Reagan is looking forward to it. She wants everyone to have pink and purple balloons and marshmallows! If she gets sad we just start talking about her going home party!! Two of her nurses that she just loves may be following us home. Phoebe and Savannah. They adore Reagan and she adores them.
She still continues to amaze everyone. A cute story... Last Monday Reagan and I were playing and I ask her to squeeze my finger. She did!! Praise God. Allen was on his way to B'ham so I called to tell him the good news! He said that he had just finished praying and was going to ask God to show him more and to help Reagan do even more, but he just stopped and thought, No, God, your will be done. Wow! He didn't even have to ask God, He just did! Needless to say he was very excited!
Brennen is doing good! He is still hanging out with friends and family but seems to be doing ok with everything. I will update later.
