RECOVERING!!

Reagan is doing great! She did awesome. She is such a trooper! She had to have two root canals and tons of cavities filled along with the g-tube. They do not want her to eat anything until tomorrow and then wants to watch and see how she does for a few days. We may be able to come home Sunday, but more likely Monday or Tuesday! Thanks for the prayers! Enjoy the pictures.

Surgery

Reagan is having her surgery tomorrow. Please pray for the dr.'s and that Reagan will have a smooth recovery. They said they would start at 7:30 and I am not sure how long it will take. I will try to update her blog tomorrow night.

THANKFUL!!!!

I am so thankful a dr. walked into the room last night and interrupted my post. I was going to tell how we were at the hospital again and blah blah blah, but thank you Jesus, you have given me a new perspective this morning! I am so thankful that Reagan is getting the best care possible at the hospital! I am so thankful that we have insurance to pay for the hospital. I am so thankful that Allen has a job that provides great insurance. Thank you God! There are so many things to be thankful for that I cannot possibly list them all. I love my kids and feel very blessed to have them. I am glad that God sees things that we do not see and knows what is best for us even when we do not think so. He always works things out! It is not always easy and sometimes hard to swallow, but in the end, we are so blessed!

I have to admit, when Dr. Hoover told us Wednesday that we needed to be admitted to the hospital on Thursday or Friday, my human sinful flesh thought "you gotta be kidding me, another birthday and mother's day in the hospital!!". But I am thankful that I am Reagan and Brennen's mommy and that I still get to take care of them because that could have been so different a year ago April 26! God spared her life and we are so thankful for that!!! I get to do what Mommy's do best and take care of my beautiful daughter on Mother's day! She tells me all the time "your the best mommy", what more could I want! I am still working on Brennen!

I am so thankful for wonderful family and friends that has volunteered to take care of Brennen while I am gone and Allen is trying to work some and be at the hospital too! Thank you God for such a wonderful husband, father, and provider. He never complains!

So, we are at the hospital, our old room in fact, and Reagan is doing fine! Loving all of the attention that she gets from everyone that sees her! Everyone was so excited to see her and she has actually been talking a little more that usual! Dr. Hoover wanted to admit her and "fatten her up" before surgery on Thursday. He didn't feel like she would do well with recovery if she didn't have a few tests and things done before hand. At first, I couldn't believe it, but, he is the Dr. and has been seeing her for almost a year now and knows what she needs. She is having g-tube surgery and having a lot of dental work done at the same time to prevent having to put her to sleep again so close together. We are thankful that God is working that out because both are so important and really need to be done so quickly!

Reagan is telling me " Hey mommy, the room is all blue! That reminds me, blue is your favorite color!!! How precious is that.? I will update later. She is up and ready to do something! Blessings, and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever ! (not sure what verse that is)

Tired Anyone???

What a day! Reagan had to go to the Dr. once again today with still no result. She has been sick for a week now and we thought that she was getting better, but.... Not sure what is going on with her. We scheduled her G-tube surgery today. We have put it off as long as we can! She is losing weight again and not wanting to eat. So depressing. We really thought things were turning around and she wouldn't have to endure another surgery. If that is not enough, she is also going to have to have some dental work done that will require her to be put to sleep. I am going to try and coordinate everything on the same day as her g-tube but not sure how that will work out! Some days!! Ok, since I have vented and been a Debbie Downer, please pray for Reagan and my sanity! We really need it right now!

More Blessings!

Brennen on silly hat day! Reagan posing for the camera!

Alabama snow!!!! Dandruff to some!!!!

We are doing good! Reagan is just a sweetie pie. She makes us laugh everyday! She has learned to talk over her trach again and boy does she talk. Allen came in yesterday, while she was in her bedroom, and she heard the beep beep when the door opened and started saying very loudly "Daddy, is that you? Daddy, is that you? Daddy?" until he came to see her. It was so precious!

Reagan got a very good report on March 2. We saw a new ENT Dr. that used a chemical to treat Reagan's stoma hole and it basically melted all of the granulation tissue away! No surgery! Praise God! We were so thrilled! She is feeling so much better now! She is just getting stronger everyday! We are now praying for an appetite so we will not have to do NG's anymore or so she will not have to have a g-tube surgery! So far, she is getting her recommended Pedisure and lots of other goodies as she asks for them. We will do the surgery if necessary, but after all that she has been thru we are just not very excited about any surgery, even though it may seem minor to some. We just pray that God will supply her a hearty appetite. She has gained weight since we have been praying this for her.
She is not doing so well off of her vent. I think she has gotten dependent on it! Prayfully she will be weaned off that again soon. Thank you so much to our friends at PCMC that still check in on Reagan. It is good to hear from you. To a couple of the followers, I have no idea who you are. Could you please let me know who you are? Thanks everyone for all of the prayers! Keep em coming!
Love,
Jeri Ann

Reagan is doing great. Thanks for all of the prayers. She is a much happier toddler. She smiles all the time and is so fun to be around! We can't understand her very well right now because she has some more scar tissue that has grown around her stoma hole, but we are going to have surgery on that next month. Pray that everything goes well. She has lost some weight so she is also going to get a g-tube to help her put on some weight. We are just so thankful that she is doing so well. She is finally interacting with her nurses at home and, of course, they just love her. We have got two great nurses at home that we love and thank them so much for their help.

Brennen and Reagan are both so thoughtful and sweet to each other. She brought him home a little bear from PT the other day and he has slept with it every night since she gave it to him. I just love them so much. They are both precious angels from God. Reagan's "security washcloth" was dry the other day and he got up to wet it for her and put it on her forehead! What a good big brother! I will try to post pictures soon! Enough rambling, Have a great weekend!

Blessings!

I think the blue bow is so cute on him!!

Reagan has security washcloths instead of a blankie. She thinks has to have a washcloth on her head at all times!

She loved santa! Can't you tell! Ha Ha!

We are truly blessed! I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas! I know we are so very thankful for Reagan being here with us. We were not so sure how that was going to go in April, but thank you Jesus, she is here! Not always happy, but we are praying that will change. Please pray with us that she will soon be in happier spirits and know that she is loved and that we want her to be a part of everything! It is just taking time. Overall, she is doing good. She has an infection right now and on another round of antibotics but does not act like it is affecting her. Please remember to pray for her tests next month.
