Better Days!

I hate to write and not say good things, but Reagan has just not been herself lately. She is not smiling much and she absolutely hates being off of her vent. She is happier when she is plugged up and the vent is doing everything for her. We have tried weaning her off at night but she does not tolerate it well. We end up hooking her back up so she can rest and us too! Please pray for better days!

Smiles

Yesterday was a good day. Reagan smiled alot yesterday. So did Brennen. I missed alot of it while I was at the wonderful WalMart. Allen put Reagan in the infant swing and she loved it. He took a picture of her smiling. She also got to play in the sandbox. She got to be a kid yesterday. She was actually in the mood. Sometimes she will not tolerate much.
Brennen loved riding his bike yesterday. He was out of school for Columbus day so we decided to have some "Brennen time". He have tried to get him to ride his back for months now and he has never been interested. Yesterday was different. We ask if he wanted to ride his bike to visit a little girl in the neighborhood, so he was all for it. Girl Crazy at such a young age!!!!! So, thanks for the prayers, maybe today will be just as good as yesterday!
Grayson McEvoy had some of his tests yesterday and received a good report. He will have an MRI Wed. so please remember him in your prayers.

Blessings!

Ready to hear something really huge? Reagan can come off of her vent some. She had her sleep study off of the vent and did wonderful all night, praise God! The Dr. came in and said let's unplug her! Huge. She has been off all day today and did very good until about 8:00 and she started getting really tired and desating so we hooked her back up so she can rest well. We were not expecting that at all. Maybe weaning her breath rate and pressure support, but never take her off! We never know what God has in store for us! His blessings are all around us everyday! Thanks to the wonderful Nurses and RT's for taking such good care of Reagan during our stay at the hosp. You are great.
Reagan still needs your prayers. She has reflux in her kidneys, I guess is the best way to describe it. She is having to take a daily maintenance antibiotic to try to prevent infection in her kidneys. They are going to test it again in January and see if it has improved. We are praying that it has, but if not, she will need to have surgery to reroute things into her bladder muscle. I know I am not explaining things very well, but bottom line is she is not draining her bladder and urine is going up instead of down causing urinary tract infections!
Please pray for Grayson McEvoy! Our friend in Utah. He is going to be going through a lot next week and needs our prayers. You can check out his website at www.provomiracles.com He is the cutest little guy and up until a few weeks ago just smiles about everything! We love him and his family dearly!
Thanks for the prayers! Have a blessed weekend!

Pictures

Reagan is having a pretty good day today. She is just really tired. She has had a rough couple of weeks. We are praying that the Dr. will wean a little when we go back to B'ham on Monday. Pray that everything goes well with no complications. We are only planned to stay for two days and we are praying that is it. Reagan has a long list of things that she has to get checked out so it will be a long few days for her. All of the prayer warriors reading this, pray for me. I have been so stressed out lately! I know God has a plan and a purpose, but some days are just discouraging. When Reagan is just not doing so hot! I know God has brought her this far and has her in His arms, but some days are crazy!!!!!!! Maybe today she will feel even better. Enjoy the pictures! Thanks a bunch!

Tiffany (Tiff-N-O) We love her! Our friend from Utah (Grayson's mommy) Pray for Grayson. He is having an MRI in a couple of weeks.

Pray

Sorry for not having pictures. I promise the next time I write I will download some. Reagan has not been so great for the last few weeks. She has been to the dr.s 4 times in the last 2 weeks. She has had 2 rounds of IV antibotics trying to kill whatever it is that she has caught. Now she is taking one for yet another UTI. She has been running high fevers and just can't get comfortable. Poor Reagan. Please pray for her full recovery soon. I am stressed out when she feels so terrible and there is nothing I can do. It's been one of those weeks!

Daddy is not feeling too much better himself. We think he caught it from Reagan! Isn't it too early for everyone to be getting so sick??? Brennen is doing great. Little Monster at times, but doing great. He is still loving school and learning to read. We are so proud of him too!

Halo-less Reagan

Reagan had her halo removed and is doing great. She truly blesses us everyday. I will try to post pictures in a few days. She looks great. The four holes in her forehead are looking great also. They are going to heal up fast. The two on her right side do not look so hot but they will eventually be covered up by all of her hair. We were told by B'ham that she needed to wear a neck brace for a while to help support her head while her spine is still fusing! We were told in by Utah that it was a complete fusion and no need for neck brace, so who knows. Allen was happy for the neck brace. He is a nervous wreck about the whole thing anyway. I think he wanted to leave the halo on permanently so there was no chance of her moving her neck! Ha! She is doing good and we are praying that she will eventually be weaned from the vent. She is breathing alot on her own! She gets very upset when she is off of it and tries to talk and she can't. The dr. is going to do some weaning next week and then she will have a sleep study Oct. 6 to make sure she is doing ok on those settings!
Brennen is doing good. Loving school and his teacher. She is really sweet and puts my mind at ease about him being away from me all day long. That was so hard for me to send him to school. My baby is growing up!!!
Allen is working all the time. Gotta love it!

Praise the Lord! Reagan's spine is fused! Dr. Brockmeyer, the neuro in Utah, looked at the scans from the ER a few weeks ago and said it was a solid fusion! The halo can come off. She is fused from her skull to her thoraic spine. We are trying to line things up with B'ham so not excatly sure when it will come off, but hopefully sooner than Oct. 6th now! I can't wait to hold her again!!! We are praying all goes well and we have a quick stay and back home again. She will have to go back to B'ham in Oct for another PAM treatment that she gets once every 3 months for her bones, along with many other tests, but hopefully that will just be a day or two at the most. Thanks for checking in.
